Lee Brackhahn and Frances Gates, visiting from the Newport club, posted a score of 30.5 Thursday, Jan. 21, to win the Florence Duplicate Bridge Club's weekly game at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

The game was a special charity event with proceeds going to the American Contract Bridge League's junior program to encourage high school and college players.

David Gustafson and Marian Weiss, who won the previous week, were second with a score of 28. James Smith and Georgia Farman were third with 26 and Lloyd Little and Marilyn Buchanan fourth with 23.5.

John Weatherwax and Roberta Parker were fifth at 23 and Doreen MacNeil and Kenneth Hampsten sixth with 19.

The Florence club is Oregon Central Coast unit 572 of the American Contract Bridge League, which sanctions the weekly games.

Club play is usually 12:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 19th and Tamarack.
