The Siuslaw Vikings football team has a schedule for the next two seasons, athletic director Jeromy Graybill announced.

The 2016 and 2017 schedules are a mirror image of each other, the same eight opponents playing a home-and-home schedule for the two seasons.

The Vikings will open both seasons with the annual Blue/Gold Game at Hans Petersen Field. The 2016 game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.

Homecoming/senior recognition for 2016 is the regular-season finale against  Brookings-Harbor at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.

Other home games are Newport on Sept. 16 and North Bend on Sept. 30.

The Vikings were 6-3 in 2015 under Tim Dodson.

Dodson announced his retirement in April. He compiled a 152-58 record with a state championship in 20 seasons as head coach.

Dodson's replacement is expected to be announced this summer.

First practice this fall is Monday, Aug. 15.
