Potter wins 100 hurdles at FWL JV meet

Siuslaw Vikings senior Sierra Potter won the girls 100-meter high hurdles in a personal-record 54.44a Tuesday at the Far West League JV Meet at North Bend High School.

Potter also set a PR in the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches, which is tied for sixth-best in school history.

Vikings sophomore Lainey Goss was second in the girls 800 meters in 2:52.03a, while Siuslaw sophomore Kyle King was second in the triple jump at 35-1 and third in the 300 hurdles in a personal-record 47.44c.

All six Far West League schools entered athletes.

The Vikings well send nearly two dozen athletes to the 67th annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational this Saturday.

Siuslaw also is entered in the Wally Ciochetti Invitational on May 6 at Cottage Grove.

The Far West League championships are May 13-14 at Douglas High School in Winston.

The Oregon School Activities Association 4A state championships are May 20-21 at Hayward Field in Eugene.
