The Holiday Bowl in Florence has begun taking signups for its 35-week league bowling season that begins in September.

League play is available for youth (first grade through high school), seniors (55 and older), men, women and mixed leagues.

Youth bowl on Sundays, women on Mondays, men on Tuesdays and Thursdays and seniors on Wednesdays and Fridays. A social league for adults rolls on Sundays.

League play begins the first week after Labor Day, which is Sept. 5 this year.

Holiday Bowl has two major events in the upcoming weeks, the Grandparents Weekend which will roll Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, July 22-Aug. 14, and the Women's State 600 Club, which will roll Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 10-24.

The Siuslaw Vikings varsity teams start practice in October, according to Dusty Anderson, manager of the Holiday Bowl and one of the teams' coaches.
