The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team's long road tour took a couple of detours Friday, first their bus breaking down on the freeway on the way to the game and then a 54-38 loss to the Cardinals at Corbett.

The Vikings, playing the sixth game of nine in a row away from home, fell to 3-6 for the season.

Siuslaw next plays at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Waldport. The Vikings then have two games in the Sky-West Crossover Tournament at North Valley High School in Grants Pass before completing nonleague play with a Jan. 10 home date with Junction City.

Seniors accounted for 33 of the Vikings' 38 points Friday. Brittany Long had a team-high 13, while Destinie Tatum added 10, Claire Waggoner 6, Nikki Launius 3 and Abby Watkins 1.

Tatum also had a team-high 12 rebounds, including seven offensive.

Corbett improved to 4-2 for the season.
