The Henley Hornets held off the Siuslaw Vikings, 48-42, in a nonleague boys basketball game Saturday at Douglas High School in Winston.

Siuslaw fell to 5-7 for the season in a spirited effort against the 10-1 Hornets, who are ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by the Oregon School Activities Association.

Senior guard Bryce Larman led Henley with 20 points, hitting five 3-pointers. No Vikings details were available.

The Vikings finished 1-1 in the Far West/Skyline Crossover Tournament. Friday, the Vikings defeated Hidden Valley, 51-37.

The Vikings complete nonleague play Tuesday at Junction City. Siuslaw lost to Junction City a month ago in a tournament game at Harrisburg, 52-35.

Siuslaw opens Far West League play riday, Jan. 13, hosting South Umpqua at Glenn Butler Court. Tip off is 7:30 p.m.
