Siuslaw junior Richard Huff pinned Noah Mauhew of Dayton in 41 seconds in the 120-pound championship match to lead the Vikings wrestlers to a sixth-place showing Saturday in the Sutherlin Invitational.

Huff, improving to 22-3 for the season, pinned Bailey Wentz of Glide in 1:44 and Jakob Allen of Douglas in 1:27 to reach the title match.

Siuslaw scored 85 team points in the 10-school event. Sutherlin had 170 points for the team title. Glide was second with 168.5 and Douglas third with 156.

Dayton had 152.5 for fourth and Coquille 98 for fifth.

Senior Scott Simmons was third place at 145 pounds and senior Kainan Lane was third at 285 pounds, pinning four straight opponents after losing his opening match, 5-4.

The Vikings next wrestle Wednesday, Feb. 1, in a Far West League meet at North Bend.
