The North Bend Bulldogs opened up a two-game lead in Far West League boys basketball Friday with a 68-39 victory over the visiting Siuslaw Vikings.

The Bulldogs, 14-4 overall, finished the first half of league play 5-0. Siuslaw shares second place at 3-2 with Douglas and Marshfield.

The Vikings are 8-10 overall.

Siuslaw's Trent Reavis led all scorers with 20 points as Vikings juniors accounted for 37 of the team's 39 points. Jake Hickson had 8 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, while Kyle King had 6 and Jared Brandt 3.

Brandt also had a team-high 7 rebounds.

Five Bulldogs were in double figures, including Jayden Frank with 17, Tyler Brown with 12, Garrett Curtis with 11 and Tanner Hanneman and Brody Lucero with 10 each.

North Bend held only a 29-21 halftime lead, but outscored the Vikings 39-17 in the second half.

Siuslaw next plays Friday at South Umpqua to open second-half play.

The Vikings' next home game is Tuesday, Feb. 7, against Marshfield.
