Sophomore guard Jordy Miles stole the ball in the closing seconds Tuesday to preserve the Marshfield Pirates' 46-43 victory over the Siuslaw Vikings in Far West League boys basketball at Glenn Butler Court.

Marshfield improved to 4-3 in league and 10-11 overall, while Siuslaw dropped to 3-4 and 8-12.

Marshfield is alone in second place, while the Vikings are now tied for third with Douglas, a 55-51 loser at Brookings-Harbor on Tuesday.

Siuslaw junior Trent Reavis had a game-high 16 points, with junior Kyle King added 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.

Junior Jake Hickson had a team-high 4 steals and senior Brogan Cornish a team-high 4 assists.

The Vikings play their next two games on the road, Friday at Brookings-Harbor and next Tuesday at Douglas.

Siuslaw closes regular-season play Friday, Feb. 17, hosting league-leading North Bend on senior recognition night at Glenn Butler Court.

Siuslaw has two seniors on its roster, co-captains Brogan Cornish and Marcos Reyna-Ayala.

North Bend won at South Umpqua on Tuesday, 52-42, to clinch a share of the league title at 7-0.
