Top-seeded Richard Huff of Siuslaw captured the 113-pound title and three teammates joined him as state qualifiers Saturday at the OSAA 4A Special District 3 wrestling tournament at South Umpqua High School in Tri City.
Huff, a junior, was pushed to the limit by Marshfield sophomore Frankie Harlow in the championship match, winning by a 6-5 decision.
Senior Kainan Lane finished third place, pinning Ishmael DeLaTorre of Phoenix in 3 minutes, 20 seconds in the 285-pound consolation final.
Sophomore Riley Jennings, at 152 pounds, and senior Nick Steinman, at 170, placed fourth in their weight classes to earn state berths.
The top five in each weight class advance to state.
Siuslaw freshman Matthew Horrillo (285) was eliminated in consolation Saturday and did not qualify for state. Seniors Eyza Abbas Carrasco (120), Joaquin Cervantes (138) and Jesus Sierra (145) were eliminated Friday.
The Oregon School Activities Association state championships are Feb. 24-25 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
