Vikings' Huff wins title, Lane places fifth

Siuslaw Vikings junior Richard Huff is a state wrestling champion.

Saturday, Huff pinned Molalla freshman Maximus Tate in 1 minute, 42 seconds to win the title at 113 pounds at the Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A championships in Portland.

Huff was 4-0 over two days at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, with three pins and a major decision.

Earlier, Vikings senior Kainan Lane pinned No. 2 seed Donnie Clark of McLoughlin/Weston McEwen in 1:40 for fifth place.

The Vikings' Riley Jennings and Nick Steinman were eliminated Friday.
