Grzeskowiak candidate for OSAA board

Andy Grzeskowiak, Siuslaw school district superintendent

Siuslaw School District superintendent Andy Grzeskowiak is one of three candidates for the 4A representative to the executive board of the Oregon School Activities Association's Delegate Assembly.

The election will be part of the OSAA Delegate Assembly meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, April 10, at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn.

Also running for the 4A position are Krista Parent, the superintendent of the South Lane School District, and Jacob Pence, assistant principal and athletic director at Banks.

The meeting's agenda includes caucus-group discussions on state championships, OSAA website development and a report by the inclusion committee.

The state championship committee has been asked to review the following:

1. Financial impact of championships on member schools and the OSAA
2. Playoff qualifying formats and allocations in team/individual sports
3. Basketball and volleyball final site formats and venues
4. Neutral sites for soccer, baseball, and softball semifinals
5. List of current OSAA activities to determine if the OSAA is meeting the membership's needs

The inclusion committee, established in 2015, is examining "how the (OSAA) can better include students with physical disabilities in our education-based programs."
