The Siuslaw Vikings fell to 0-3 on the young baseball season Saturday, dropping a doubleheader at Junction City, 4-1 and 7-4.

In the opener, Levi Silbernagel was 4-for-7 and had three RBIs and three runs for the Tigers, while in the second game, Billy Dotson and Luke Jackson combined to throw a one-hitter.

Junction City moved to 5-1 with the win, and is now ranked No. 14 in Class 4A by the Oregon School Activities Association. Siuslaw is No. 26.

The Vikings next will play three games at the Newport tournament. Monday, they play Class 5A No. 14 Dallas (3-2) at 2:30 p.m. and Class 4A No. 5 Sweet Home (3-0) at 5:15 p.m. On Tuesday, they play Class 4A No. 18 Philomath (1-1) at noon.

The Sweet Home game is a rematch of the Vikings' season opener, won by the host Huskies, 8-1.

Monday's game with Dallas and Tuesday's game with Philomath are scheduled to be carried by Coast Radio, 106.9 FM and 1250 AM.
