Hooper, Oliver, Watkins, Reavis post wins


Senior Carissa Oliver won the discus with a personal-record 134-5 and the shot put at 38-6.

Siuslaw seniors Clark Hooper, Carissa Oliver and Abby Watkins and junior Trent Reavis all won events Tuesday at the Far West League varsity track and field meet at the Prefontaine Track in Coos Bay.

Both the Vikings boys and girls finished third in team scoring, behind Marshfield and North Bend.

Hooper won both boys hurdles events, with a personal-record 42.13a seconds in the 300 meters and a 16.00a in the 110.

Oliver won the girls discus with a personal-record 134 feet, 5 inches and the shot put at 38-6.

Watkins had season bests in winning the girls long jump at 15-6.5 and finishing second in the triple jump at 29-6.

Reavis won both the boys discus (season-best 143-1) and shot put (50-9), while finishing third in the javelin.

> Sophomore Kaeli Ramos was third in the 800 in a season-best 2:41.61a.

In the boys team scoring, Marshfield had 443 points, North Bend 313, Siuslaw 245, Brookings-Harbor 138, Douglas 93 and South Umpqua 38.

In girls team scoring, Maarshfield had 386, North Bend 280, Siuslaw 271, Brookings-Harbor 167, South Umpqua 82 and Douglas 0.
