Vikings' Oliver 4th in discus at Ore. Relays


Siuslaw junior Carissa Oliver, fifth in the discus, will compete in the shot put Saturday at the Oregon Relays in Eugene.

Siuslaw senior Carissa Oliver launched the discus 131 feet Friday for a fourth-place finish at the Oregon Relays track and field meet at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Vikings junior Trent Reavis placed sixth in the shot put at 49 feet, 7 inches, while senior Celie Mans was 14th in the 3,000 meters in 10 minutes, 39.38a seconds.

In other Siuslaw results on the first day of the two-day event, senior Abby Watkins was 32nd in the long jump at 14-3 and senior Jack Pickell 51st in the 3,000in 9:29.60a.

Oliver also is entered Saturday in the shot put, while Reavis is in both the discus and javelin. Mans will run the 1,500 and Watkins the 100.

  • Anne Warnik and Hannah Rannow in the freshman 3,000 and Rannow in the 1,500.
  • Junior Kaylee Graham in the 100 and 300 hurdles.
  • Sophomore Madison Reynolds in the shot put.
