Vikings' Oliver 4th in shot put with PR 40-5.5


Siuslaw Vikings senior Carissa Oliver placed fourth in both the shot put and discus at the Oregon Relays.

Siuslaw senior Carissa Oliver went a personal-record 40 feet, 5.5 inches Saturday to place fourth in the girls shot put at the Oregon Relays at Hayward Field in  Eugene.

Oliver was fourth in the discus Friday at 131-0.

Other marks by Vikings Included:

Junior Trent Reavis was seventh in the javelin at 164-7 and 12th in the discus at 140-11. He finished sixth in the shot put Friday at 49-7.

Freshman Ryan Rendon-Padilla was 10th in the javelin at 154-11.

Celie Mans finished 25th in the 1,500 in 5 minutes, 1.42 seconds. Friday, she was 14th in the 3,000 in 10:39.38.

Jack Pickell ran a 9:29.60 in the 3,000 to place 51st.

Destinie Tatum was 35th in the 400 meters in 1:03.69 and 34th in the high jump at 4-7.

Hurdler Clark Hooper was 26th in the 300 in 42.41. Hooper ran a personal-record 15.65 in the 110 but did not qualify for the finals.

Kaylee Graham was 44th in the 300 hurdles in 52.00 and 37th in the 100 hurdles in 17.69.

Madison Reynolds was 27th in the shot put at 33-0.25.

Abby Watkins ran the 100 in 14.31 to finish 45th and went 14-3 in the long jump.

Josh Payne was second in the wheelchair 1,500 in 5:36.97 and second in the wheelchair 200 in 40.82, both marks personal bests.

The girls 4x400 relay team was 35th in 4:28.87 and the 4x100 relay team was 39th in 54.94.

In the boys freshman 3,000, Brendon Jensen was 18th in 9:46.94 and Kiger Johnson 28th in 10:04.15.

In the girls freshman 3,000, Hannah Rannow was 18th in 11:45.24 and Anne Wartnick 26th in 12:17.34.

Siuslaw next will host the Central Coast Invitational at 4 p.m. Friday at Hans Petersen Field.
