Top-ranked South Umpqua is scheduled to play the Siuslaw Vikings in a Far West League softball doubleheader at 3 p.m. today (Friday, April 28).

South Umpqua has been ranked from No. 3 to No. 1 over the past few days. Regardless of rank, the Lancers obviously are pretty good.

Tuesday at Tri City, South Umpqua freshman shortstop Shalyn Gray clubbed two home runs and a triple, driving in six runs, to lead the Lancers to a 19-1 victory Tuesday over the Vikings.

Siuslaw fell to 1-6 in league and 4-12 in league with the loss Tuesday. South Umpqua is 5-2 and 13-2.

Siuslaw closes its season with three-game series against Brookings-Harbor (4-8, 0-5) and North Bend (10-5, 4-2).

NOTES

South Umpqua's losses have been to North Bend (14-3) and Marshfield (6-2) ...

North Bend is No. 8 and Marshfield No. 12 in the Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A rankings. ...
