Dengler, Humboldt State oust Molloy, 2-0

Humboldt State starting right fielder Lona Dengler is a graduate of Siuslaw High School and Southwestern Oregon Community College.

Siuslaw graduate Lona Dengler was 1-for-3 and Madison Williams tossed a no-hitter Friday as Humboldt State stayed alive in the NCAA Division II national softball championships with a 2-0 elimination-game victory over Molloy (Rockville Centre, N.Y.).

The Lumberjacks will play another elimination game Saturday. The winner of that game plays top-seeded Angelo State for a berth in the best-of-three championship series.

Dengler (Siuslaw 2013) popped out in the second inning against Molloy, stroked a single in the fourth and reached on a fielder's choice in the sixth.

Williams struck out 10 and walked 2.

Humboldt State first baseman Breonna Bejaran was 3-for-3 with a solo home run.
