Siuslaw Vikings seniors Celie Mans, Carissa Oliver, Destinie Tatum and Claire Waggoner are the four finalists for girl athlete of the year, it was announced Saturday.

The boys finalists include Siuslaw seniors Brogan Cornish and Jack Pickell, juniors Jared Brandt, Richard Huff and Trent Reavis and Mapleton senior Hunter Simington.

The athlete of the year awards will be announced at a special ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Siuslaw High School. Bob Sneddon will serve as master of ceremony.

Admission is free, and includes a dessert, hosted by the Siuslaw Athletic Booster Club.

The award is presented by Coast Radio, the Siuslaw News and the Sports Club.

Finalists and winners are taken from a pool of Athlete of the Week awards presented during the school year.
