8th Cool at Coast tourney tees off Saturday


The eighth annual Cool at the Coast Golf Tournament tees off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, with a scramble format at Ocean Dunes Golf Links.

The event is a fundraiser for Rotary International's Polio Plus program, which was launched in 1985 with the goal of eradicating the disease worldwide.

Host sponsors are Ocean Dunes and Three Rivers Casino Resort.

Teams of four will compete in gross and net divisions. Tee prizes include long drive, accuracy drive and closest to pin on all par 3s.

A hole-in-one prize of a 2017 Ford Mustang is sponsored by Three Rivers Casino.

There also will be a long-putt contest with a $5,000 putt-off, sponsored by Ron and Katherine Green, and a raffle drawing for a one-week stay at San Diego Country Estates.

Entry fee is $85 per player, $340 per foursome. The fee covers green fees, cart, beverages, breakfast snacks and lunch.
