Openings remain for the first Florence Youth Community Surf Camp tomorrow (Wednesday, July 12) at the South Jetty.

The free camp — for youths age 8 and older — is offered to the first 20 to sign up.

The camp still is seeking more instructors, a beach captain and a beach helper. Volunteer signup is at https://www.volunteersignup.org/EJPDK.

A training session for volunteers begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the camp at 10 a.m., surfing at 11 a.m. and lunch at noon.

The event is supported by Warm Current, a group which has been offering surf camps along the West Coast since 2009. Its website is www.warmcurrent.org.
