Veteran radio broadcaster Bob Sneddon will be back in the booth for Siuslaw football games this season, starting with the Vikings' season opener against Elmira on Friday, Sept. 1, at Hans Petersen Field.

Sneddon will do play-by-play and his son-in-law, Ethan Dougherty, will provide color.

Coast Radio (106.9FM) will air Vikings games for the 28th season. The station also soon may offer games live on the internet.

"We are moving closer to airing the games on the internet," general manager Jon Thompson said in an email to Exploding Whale Sports. "It is a project that's getting closer to reality.

"The big issue is controlling what programs we stream. ... We can air Viking sports (on the internet), but we are working on efficient controls."

Kickoff for Vikings games is 7 p.m., with Coast Radio providing a pregame show at 6:45 p.m.
