The Marshfield Pirates lived up to their Top-10 ranking Tuesday, sweeping past the Siuslaw Vikings in a Far West League girls volleyball match at Siuslaw's Glenn Butler Court.

Marshfield, ranked No. 6 in Class 4A, won 25-23, 25-17, 25-14 to improve to 6-4 overall.

Siuslaw, 2-4 overall, heads to Brookings-Harbor on Thursday for another league match. The Vikings are at Douglas next Tuesday, with their next home game Thursday, Sept. 21, against North Bend.

Junior Makenzie York had 11 kills Tuesday to lead the Siuslaw offense against Marshfield. Sophomore Mia Collins had 3 kills and 2 digs.
