Siuslaw sophomore Brendon Jensen finished fourth among 82 runners Saturday to lead the Vikings boys to a second-place finish in the Pleasant Hill Rock 'n' River cross country race at Elijah Bristow State Park.

Siuslaw had 48 points to easily outdistance third-place North Bend, which had 109 in the 10-school race. Philomath won with 43.

Sophomore Hannah Rannow was sixth among 71 runners to lead the Vikings to a fourth-place finish in the girls team race.

Siuslaw had 96 points to 41 by first-place Springfield.

Jensen — named Coast Radio's athlete of the week Tuesday — ran the 5,000 meters in 17 minutes, 35.90 seconds, while Rannow finished in 21:00.70.

Senior Isaac Griffes (17:42.80) was second for the Vikings boys, followed by sophomores Kiger Johnson (17:53.50), Jonah Jarman (PR 17:54.70) and Jared Northrop (18:02.00).

Sophomore Anne Wartnik (PR 21:20.90) was second for the Vikings girls, followed by freshman Brea Blankenship (22:18.60), sophomore Chloe Madden (23:05.90) and freshman Gracie Freudenthal (23:29.20).
