Vikings' York named to all-league first team


Siuslaw junior middle blocker Makenzie York

Siuslaw Vikings junior middle blocker Makenzie York has been named to the Far West League girls volleyball all-star first team.

Siuslaw also had two players on the second team, senior outside hitter Emma Collins and junior outside hitter Jordan Long.

Sophomore middle blocker Mia Collins was an honorable mention selection.

The Vikings finished the season 11-11 overall and 5-5 in league.

Siuslaw was ranked No. 22 in the state, losing in a state Class 4A play-in game this past Saturday at Cascade.

The Vikings will lose three players to graduation, including Emma Collins, right side Abby Coday and libero Maci Wells.
