Vikings boys seventh in OSAA 4A finals


The Siuslaw Vikings boys finished seventh Saturday in the Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A cross country championships at Lane Community College in Eugene.

Vikings runners placed 11th, 14th, 38th, 55th and 60th for 178 points. Crook County was first with 80 and Stayton second with 96.

Sophomore Brendon Jensen turned in the top Vikings time of 17 minutes, 17 seconds.

Senior Isaac Griffes, the Far West League individual champion, ran 17:21, sophomore Jonah Jarman 17:49, sophomore Kiger Johnson 18:03 and senior Jordan Northrop 18:15.

Junior Robert Mans finished in 18:30 and sophomore Jared Northrop in 19:58.

Scappoose senior John Kavulich won the individual title in 16:23.
