Vikings girls finish fifth in OSAA 4A finals


The Siuslaw Vikings girls finished fifth Saturday in the Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A cross country championships at Lane Community College in Eugene.

Vikings runners finished 9th, 20th 24th, 39th and 60th for 152 points. Tillamook scored a dominating 37 for the team title, while Scappoose was second with 108.

Sophomore Hannah Rannow had the best Vikings time of 20 minutes, 12 seconds.

Freshman Brea Blankenship ran 20:43, sophomore Anne Wartnik 21:06, freshman Gracie Freudenthal 21:52 and sophomore Chloe Madden 22:31.

Senior Kaylee Graham finished in 22:46 and junior Naomi Shoji in 22:50.

Tillamook sophomore Solace Bergeron easily won the individual title in 18:44.

Marshfield junior Jazmin Chavez, who qualified individually for state, was third overall in 19:30. Pirates teammate Kaylee Delzotti was ninth in 19:47.
