The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team awaits the naming of a new head coach as it prepares for Wednesday's season opener at Creswell.

Vikings athletic director Chris Johnson confirmed Tuesday that the search for a coach is "in progress."

Greg Reynolds currently is serving as acting head coach in place of Clint Tatum, who resigned.

The school's web page on the Oregon School Activities Association web site still lists Tatum as head coach.

There also is no team roster on the web page.

The Lady Vikings are scheduled to play their first six games on the road, with their home opener Tuesday, Dec. 12, against Cottage Grove.
