Vikings' Huff opens classic with pair of pins

Siuslaw Vikings senior Richard Huff advanced to the quarterfinals of the 126-pound class with a pair of pins Friday in the North Bend Coast Classic wrestling tournament.

The No. 2-seeded Huff will next face No. 7 seed Jordan Petersen, a Canby senior. Roseburg senior Hunter Sparks is the No. 1 seed in the division.

The Vikings' other six wrestlers were eliminated after each going 0-2 on the first day.

Wrestlers from 36 schools are competing in the two-day event.
