Freshman Brea Blankenship had 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals Monday to lead the Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team to a 38-27 victory over the Sweet Home Huskies at Glenn Butler Court.

The Vikings, 1-7 in preleague play, host Reedsport at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Blankenship was 5-for-10 from the field and hit a pair of 3-pointers to pace the Vikings' offense.

Senior Carreina Blankenship and sophomore Mia Collins had 6 points each, while junior Madison Reynolds had 4 points and a team-high 8 rebounds and senior Marika White 4 points and 7 rebounds.

The win was the first for the Vikings under first-year coach Greg Reynolds.
