The Siuslaw Vikings girls volleyball team and both the boys and girls cross country teams this past fall have achieved academic all-state status.

OnPoint Community Credit Union is the title sponsor for the Oregon School Activities Association program.

"The Academic All-State Award is awarded to all boys and girls teams in each OSAA-sanctioned activity that achieves a 3.0 or higher cumulative team grade point average," the OSAA said in a news release Wednesday, Dec. 12.

"Each member of a winning team receives a commemorative decal and a certificate."

The Vikings volleyball team had a 3.16 GPA to qualify, while the girls cross country team a 3.32 and the boys cross country team a 3.53.
