Top-ranked Marshfield raced to a 63-10 halftime lead Friday and coasted to a 77-29 victory over the Siuslaw Vikings in a Sky-Em League girls basketball game at the Pirate Palace in Coos Bay.

The Lady Pirates, 15-1 overall and 3-0 in league, sat their starters in the second half.

The Lady Vikings fell to 4-13 overall and 0-3 in league.

Siuslaw will be at Elmira on Tuesday, then complete the first half of league play by hosting Junction City this coming Friday.

Sophomore Gracie Freudenthal led the Lady Vikings with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots Friday.

Sophomore Lindsey Long added 7 points, sophomore Brea Blankenship 4, senior Madison Reynolds 3, sophomore Lizbeth Garcia-Galvan 3 and junior Mia Collins 2.

Nonstarter Jazmin Chavez, a senior, led Marshfield with 19 points, all in the first half. Hailey Browning, a 6-foot senior, added 13 points.

In other games Friday, Marist won 48-45 at Junction City and Cottage Grove controlled visiting Elmira, 46-35.
