The Elmira Falcons went on two big scoring runs in the second half to defeat the visiting Siuslaw Vikings, 70-44, in Sky-Em League boys basketball Tuesday.

The Vikings, 0-4 in league and 5-13 overall, complete the first half of league play Friday, hosting Junction City. Tip off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

Elmira won for the first time in league play and improved to 7-9 overall.

Sophomore Jacob Foskett led the Vikings with 10 points.

The Falcons' Jacob Marr, a 6-foot-6 sophomore, had a game-high 16 points, while junior Christian Davis added 13 and senior Keegan Cook 11.

The game was tight for much of the first half, the Vikings holding their final lead, 15-14, midway through the second quarter.

The Falcons went on a 12-3 run to take a 26-18 lead at halftime.

Siuslaw cut the lead to six with the first basket of the second half, but Elmira responded with a 15-0 run and a 41-20 lead.

The Vikings cut the deficit to single digits, 44-35, early in the fourth quarter, only to see the Falcons go a 12-0 run for a 56-35 lead.
