Siuslaw High School athletics has picked up its second sportsmanship citation of the school year, the honor this winter going to the boys' basketball team.

Last fall, the Lady Vikings volleyball team was nominated for an Oregon School Activities Association sportsmanship award.

Wrote Kelly Foster, associated director of the OSAA:

"I am writing to congratulate you on your recent sportsmanship nomination. This is a recognition program that gives officials the opportunity to highlight the positive sportsmanship that they see on the court. Each program that receives a nomination will be eligible to receive the OSAA Sportsmanship Award for their activity, which includes 100 OSAA Cup points for your school!
 
"In a recent contest, your program exhibited the great qualities that the OSAA looks for in teams, programs, and communities across the state, and your game official noticed!
