4 Vikings remain alive for consolation honors

Siuslaw wrestlers Brady Libby, Ryan Jennings, Riley Jennings and Matthew Horrillo remain alive in Saturday's consolation rounds following big comeback streaks Friday at the Cottage Grove Invitational.

All four Vikings lost their first match, only to bounce back with three consecutive wins each to remain in the hunt for a third-place finish.

Brady, at 120 pounds, had two pins and a major decision; the two Jennings brothers three pins each, and Horrillo a tiebreaker win and two pins, one in 23 seconds and the second in 45 seconds.

Elijah LaCosse and Hector Garcia were 1-2 Friday.

Siuslaw has two more meets before the district championships Feb. 8-9 at Junction City.

The Vikings will host the Senior Night Duals on Thursday, then compete in the OWC Duals next Saturday at Philomath.
