Vikings tumble in OWC Duals opener, 78-3


Siuslaw junior wrestler Matthew Horrilo claimed a 1-0 decision and the only team points for the Vikings in Saturday's first round of the Oregon West Conference Duals at Philomath.

Sweet Home won the dual, 78-3, taking six matches by forfeit and seven by pins which average just over a minute each.

Siuslaw will face Philomath in Round 2, Stayton in Round 3, Cascade in Round 4 and Newport in Round 5.

The tournament will be the Vikings' final action before the regional championships next Friday and Saturday at Junction City.
