Little consolation Saturday for Lady Vikings


The season is over for the first Siuslaw Vikings girls wrestling team.

But the future appears bright with a strong nucleus of freshmen Bailey Overton and Hayden Muller and sophomore Adriana Edwards.

Overton and Muller finished with a pair of pins at the two-day Oregon School Activities Association Southern Division championships at Thurston High School in Springfield.

Saturday, Overton was forced to forfeit her consolation match, while Muller and junior Kinga Bugajska, an exchange student from Poland, lost by falls.

Muller finished her season 11-5, Overton 11-8 Edwards 3-7 and Bugajska 5-11, according to trackwrestling.com.
