The high school track and field season is young, but the Siuslaw Vikings already are making their marks.
Seven Vikings girls and three boys are in the Class 4A top 10 as schools head into spring break.
Siuslaw's athletes return to the field April 2 with a Sky-Em League junior varsity meet at Junction City and April 6 with the Marist Track Classic in Eugene.
Lady Vikings sophomores Brea Blankenship (800 meters) and Gracie Freudenthal (300 meters) hold the top times in 4A as of Sunday, March 24.
Freudenthal also has the second-fastest time in the 100 hurdles.
Junior Hannah Rannow, state champion in the 800 meters in 2018, is second in the 1,500.
Sophomore Andrea Osbon is fifth in both the shot put and the discus, while freshman Rylee Colton is fifth and junior Chloe Madden sixth in the 3,000.
Senior Naomi Shoji is No. 8 in the 800.
For the boys, junior Kiger Johnson is sixth in the 800, junior Brendon Jensen ninth in the 1,500 and sophomore Ryan Jennings ninth in the 400.
