Rannow now No. 2 in Vikings girls' 3,000

Siuslaw junior Hannah Rannow ran the second-fastest girls 3,000 meters in school history Saturday at the 55th Centennial Invitational in Gresham.

Rannow finished ninth in a field of 48 in 10 minutes, 14.56a seconds. Sunset junior Lucy Huelskamp won in 9:58.58a.

The Lady Vikings record is 10:09.22a set by Katy Potter in 2013. Potter's time is No. 7 on the Class 4A all-time list.

Rannow entered the season fourth on the Siuslaw top-10 list after clocking 10:29.29a in 2018.

With her time Saturday, she passed Celie Mans (10.17.77a in 2017) and Morgan Bingham (10:25.70a in 2016).
