Siuslaw's Lady Vikings basketball team will have its fourth head coach in as many seasons this coming school year.

Chad Smith, who earlier quit as football coach, has resigned as girls basketball coach to become head football coach at Cottage Grove.

The school is wasting little time in recruiting a replacement, posting the position July 9 with a July 19 application deadline.

Smith was 5-19 in his one season as girls basketball coach, following Greg Reynolds who was 4-20 in 2017-18 and Clint Tatum who was 6-17 in 2016-17.

Last season's assistant coach? Athletic director-cross country coach-track and field coach Chris Johnson.

Smith's departure opens a teaching position in physical education at Siuslaw.

Salary range for the coaching position is $4,673 to $5,452, while the salary range for the teaching position is $38,953 to $61,919 annually.
