The Voice of Vikings Football, Bob Sneddon, is bringing law and order to his Coast Radio (106.9-FM) broadcasts this fall.

Retired police officer Kevin Harris will serve as color commentator and statistician for Siuslaw games, kicking off Sept. 6 with the season opener at Elmira.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge," Harris said.

Harris currently is a sales associate at Roby's Furniture in Florence.

The 6-foot-8 Sumner, Wash., native was a McDonald's All-American basketball player in high school and a college teammate of current Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle at the University of Montana.

Harris also was a tackle on his high school football team.

"The quarterback kept hitting me in the back of my helmet with his passes," Harris chuckled.

Sneddon is in his 14th season of broadcasting Vikings football.

Sneddon and Harris will air all nine Siuslaw regular-season games, including trips to Elmira, Philomath, Madras, Santiam Christian (Adair Village) and Sutherlin.

Wayne Sharpe and Randy Paredes will be Coast Radio's broadcast team for Mapleton football.
