The first Siuslaw Athletic Booster Club meeting of the new school year is 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the high school library.

At least four positions need to be filled — vice president, secretary, treasurer and membership chair.

There also is a member-at-large position vacated by Chad Smith, the former Vikings football coach who now is at Cottage Grove.

SABC president Steven Moser reported the recent auction-banquet generated more than $40,000 in support of middle school and high school athletics.

"This incredible amount allows the SABC to continue to help support Siuslaw athletics in new and sustaining endeavors," Moser noted on the club's Facebook page.
