Siuslaw girls, Hannah Rannow finish second

The Siuslaw girls finished second Saturday to Class 6A Wilson in the annual Woahink Lake Cross Country Invitational at Honeyman State Park.

Senior Hannah Rannow was second overall with a time of 19 minutes, 43.6 seconds to lead the Lady Vikings, who had 52 points to Wilson's 38.

Philomath senior Hannah Hernandez was first in 19:15.0.

Other top Siuslaw finishers were sophomore Rylee Colton, 12th overall in 20:53.0; junior Brea Blankenship, 15th in 21:37.1; senior Anne Wartnik, 19th in 21:51.3, and junior Gracie Freudenthal, 23rd in a season-record 22:01.4.

Siuslaw senior Chloe Madden ran a season-record 22:15.0 to finish 27th and senior Bryn Clement a season-record 23:54.5 for 46th.

Philomath finished third with 61 points, followed by Roseburg with 68, North Bend with 148 and Sutherlin with 165.
