The Lady Vikings have moved to No. 16 (as of Friday morning) in the Oregon School Activities Association rankings, with a semi-firm hold of a road play-in game in the state playoffs.

Siuslaw swept Elmira on Thursday, 3-0, to improve to 10-9 overall and a fourth-place 4-5 in the Sky-Em League.

The Lady Vikings salute seniors Mia Collins and Elissa Hurley on Tuesday during Senior Night, when Siuslaw hosts first-place Junction City. First serve is 6:30 p.m.

Before then, the Lady Vikings travel to Coos Bay on Saturday for a Marshfield Tournament that may determine their playoff future.

The eight-team tournament features three schools ranked in the top six — No. 3 Hidden Valley, No. 5 Junction City and No. 6 Astoria.

No. 14 Marshfield and No. 16 Siuslaw also are joined by No. 22 North Valley, No. 27 Mazama and No. 28 Phoenix.

Siuslaw likely will have at least two counting matches. All opponents, including the first, are to be determined.

A loss to a lower-ranked team could threaten Siuslaw's own ranking and playoff hopes.

A win or two likely would solidify Siuslaw's playoff position, and make Tuesday's match with Junction City less critical in snagging one of the eight qualifying berths.
