The banged-up Siuslaw Vikings football team will open the 3A playoffs Friday at top-ranked and 9-0 Hidden Valley in Grants Pass.

Kickoff is 7 p.m.

The Vikings (6-3), who fell to No. 16 following a 56-18 loss Friday at Sutherlin, are also the No. 16 seed.

Siuslaw had the 15th seed, but was moved to 16 so as to not meet fellow league member Santiam Christian, the No. 2-ranked school.

OSAA policy is to avoid two teams from the same league meeting in the first round, so Siuslaw swapped spots with No. 18-ranked Nyssa.
