Siuslaw student-athletes on the Reedsport/Siuslaw swim team has swelled to six members as the season-opening events loom this weekend.

Siuslaw swim team members Marvin Elzey, Ben Fowler, Japan exchange student Erika Fujita, Sydney Robison, Brianna Tabor and Cienna Vergara.

Elzey, Fowler and Robison are seniors, Tabor a Vergara juniors.

Reedsport/Siuslaw hosts Hidden Valley and North Valley on Friday, then competes at the North Bend Invitational on Saturday.

The boys and girls teams' home venue is the Highland Pool near Highland Elementary School in Reedsport.

Reedsport shop teacher Guy Marchione is the third-year head coach of the team.

The state 4A/3A/2A/1A championships are Feb. 21-22 at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center in Beaverton.
