Four of five Siuslaw Vikings wrestlers are still in the championship brackets of the two-day Army Strong Coast Classic in North Bend.

Vikings freshmen Mason Buss and Yoskar Delamora and juniors Elijah LaCosse and Ryan Jennings are in the quarterfinals of the 30-school event.

Buss had a pair of pins Friday at 120 pounds, dispatching Enrique Rodriguez of Henley in 19 seconds and Bailey Thompson of Myrtle Point in 2 minutes, 47 seconds.

Buss will face Crater freshman Braiden Tester in the quarterfinals. Tester earned his spot by beating No. 3-seed Gabe Chavez of Hidden Valley by major decision, 12-1.

LaCosse, seeded No. 5 at 145, pinned Jacob Koser of Myrtle Point in 4:53 to advance to the quarterfinals. LaCosse next wrestles No. 4 seed Matthew Bolanos of Crater.

Jennings, the No. 8 seed, earned a shot at top-seeded Caleb Jeffers of Roseburg in the 152 quarterfinals with a 10-3 victory over Jayden Brown of Grants Pass.

Delamora had byes into the quarterfinals, where he will battle No. 2 seed Ayden Tazioli of Crater at 106.

Siuslaw sophomore Louis Gentry lost twice, 7-4 to Christian Ketchem of Redmond in the first round at 160 and by pin in 2:31 to No. 3 seed Lucas Rivera of South Medford in consolation.

Siuslaw's Hayden Muller will compete in the girls tournament Saturday at 140 pounds ... she is the only Lady Viking entered in the one-day tournament. ...
