Vikings' LaCosse, Jennings place fourth

Siuslaw Vikings wrestlers had two fourth-place finishers, one fifth and one sixth Saturday at the Army Strong Coast Classic at North Bend.

Elijah LaCosse placed fourth at 145 pounds and scored 19.5 team points, while fellow junior Ryan Jennings also placed fourth and scored 14 points.

Mason Buss was fifth at 120 and scored 17 team points, while fellow freshman Yoskar Delamora was sixth and scored 8 points.

In the girls'  tournament, Siuslaw's lone entry, sophomore Hayden Muller, placed fourth with a 2-2 record and scored 13 team points.

In the boys junior varsity tournament, Ian Sissel won the 160-pound bracket, while JC Gentry was second in 220B, Hunter Patterson third in 126A, Luis Infante-Marquez fourth at 195A, Jason Garcia fifth at 170A and Jaime Morales Martin-Mora sixth at 132A.

NOTES

Crater won the 34-school boys varsity tournament with 272 points, 100 points more than runnerup Grants Pass at 172. ... Siuslaw was 17th with 58.5 points. ...

Siuslaw hosts its first home match Tuesday, hosting North Bend and Reedsport in the Central Coast Challenge. First match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
