The Stayton Eagles scored the first 15 points of the second half and roared to a 57-38 victory over the visiting Siuslaw Vikings in nonleague boys basketball Wednesday.

Siuslaw, 1-6, plays Friday at South Umpqua. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Sophomores Brody Terry and Braydon Thornton led the Vikings with 13 points and 10 points, respectively.

Sophomore Gabriel Wigginton had a game-high 16 points and senior Ben Rash 10 for the Eagles.

Stayton, 3-3, held a one-point lead at halftime, 28-27, after the two schools played to a 15-15 standoff in the first quarter.

The Vikings tried to scratch back into the game, scoring the final six points of the third quarter to trail by 10, 43-33.

But Stayton built the lead to 20 at 53-33 midway through the final quarter and the Vikings never challenged.

Siuslaw closes the calendar year with a home game Dec. 27 against Douglas. The endowment game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
