The Siuslaw Vikings boys basketball team is in first place in the Sky-Em League standings thanks to a last-second shot in overtime.

Friday, the Vikings opened league play with a 56-54 victory over Cottage Grove at Cottage Grove.

Siuslaw, 7-8 overall, next hosts Marist Catholic at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Butler Court.

Cottage Grove fell to 4-11 on the season. The Lions next play at Marshfield on Tuesday.

In other league games Friday, Marshfield won at Junction City, 59-52, and Marist Catholic routed visiting Elmira, 51-29.
